Condolence & Memory Journal

Mary and the Faigley family,
I am deeply saddened to hear of the recent death of Joseph. He was an incredible gift in all facets to our educational sphere as well as a humble grounded servant to the overall needs of those he was so entrusted with. There will continue to be many times of personal reflection of past, present and well into the future of the appreciation of Joseph's work and talents in being a key springboard into the successes and richness of my life's journey...and how his legacy will continue to be a hidden treasure in crafting the goodness and formation into future generations.
As a spouse, thank you for your service in the educational arena and formation of our youth...and thank you for helping foster and support Joseph in becoming an all important and living part of our lives.

I will finish with how scripture so succinctly comes to fruition with the richness that Mr. Faigley brought daily to his students:

"Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit."

I graduated with Joe in 1966 from Lehman High School. I remember him as a very nice, and very smart student. He was never aloof and always mixed in with all of us. I am very sorry to hear of his passing. May God give him rest from his troubles and strength to get his family through this very hard time.

He was truly an icon among educators. I was blessed to have him as a teacher at St Thomas and Walsh. The passion for history came through every class. I'm sure he's cheering for the tribe from the best seat in the house. You will be missed but will live on in memories.

Mary,

My deepest sympathy. You and Joe were always my favorite teachers and I will always cherish the memory of being the Guest Book Attendant at your wedding. This marvelous man will be missed.
