Condolence & Memory Journal

Anna Young, was the daughter of William and Margaret Riva, sturdy Piedmontese, from northern Italy near the French border. She had an inquiring mind, loved playing cards and was extremely kind and generous to her sister, my mother, when she really needed the assistance. My aunt remained mentally sharp to near the end of her life as I can personally attest. She possessed an excellent grasp of family history, a skill she passed on to her daughter, Julie, who has become our expert in genealogy. My aunt enjoyed interacting with people and most specifically with her loving family--two sons and a daughter and their families--all of whom cherished this remarkable woman, who, in the end was the offspring of determined and resolute farmers from rural Michigan.
