Condolence & Memory Journal

kindest most generous friend we ever had

Carmen and I send our warm hugs to Anne and her beautiful family. Words fail. We loved being with him on Sanibel more than we loved the sunshine. Jerry lifted spirits, treated everyone with respect, exemplified the essence of friendliness and was a fun-loving joker but never at anyone's expense. He treasured his beautiful Anne and was so proud of his family. He will be missed; but his spirit will always live in the hearts of all whose lives he touched with his special "Jerry Magic".

Jerry has been a smiling face at AMITA Health Hinsdale (Hinsdale Hospital) since 2007, acting as Host at our front door, and serving on the Volunteer Board. We will so much miss his cheerful presence and generous spirit. Jerry and Anne (who has volunteered with us for 41 years) exhibit the true meaning of giving, in every way. Our love, gratitude and respect go out to the Shay family. Volunteer Services at AMITA Health Hinsdale.

Jerry has always been a first class example of what it means to be a loving Man of Integrity and Eternal Giving. He has been the "rock" of his Family, always caring for the welfare of those he loved. He placed his beloved Anne and their children, his grandchildren and all the Swatek and Bruce extended Family above all other priorities. He looked for everything he could do to ensure the needs of all around him were cared for for. Jerry lived his life as a model for all of us, without ever asking for recognition. His reward was always the warm smiles of those he loved! We will remember you, jerry, and celebrate the memories you have provided us. With all our love, Tom (nn), Mary, Matt and Andy Bruce
