Tribute & Message From The Family

Angela Jianis passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on November 24th, 2016 after a courageous six month battle against cancer. Angela was born on August 10th, 1963 in Athens, Greece, the first of two daughters, to Konstantina and the late George Economopoulos. As a young girl, Angela and her family immigrated to the United States and resided in the Metro-Detroit area. After graduating from Lakeview High School in St. Clair Shores in 1982, she went on to Cosmetology school to pursue her passion of being a hair dresser. Angela's career as a hair dresser was one to remember. She owned her own salon business which provided full service for customers. Angela was a certified aesthetician, cosmetologist, and a master colorist – she was a leader in her field. She was a nationally credited educator for hair and hair shows, as she participated in numerous hair shows and even had her own hair show in downtown Detroit where she worked on 20 – 30 models on live television. Angela met her husband Joe in January of 1994 at the hands of their good friends Jimmy and Yianna Papasoglu and they fell in love immediately. Soon after, they married each other and started a family resulting in two children, Emmanuel and Konstantina. Angela went above and beyond for anyone who needed help, regardless of what it was. Once she put her mind to it there wasn't anything that could stop her. She was an incredibly kind and caring person. Aside from her cosmetology career and family, Angela spent her life caring and helping for everyone around her. Angela was a beloved member of the family, acting as the core that everyone gravitated towards. Angela was a beloved wife of Joe for 22 years, and loving mother of Emmanuel and Konstantina. She also survived by her dear mother Konstantina, cherished sister Sophia (Chris), nieces and nephews George, Nicole, Maria, and Emmanuel, and adored godchildren Foti, Dino, Manoli, and Odisea. Angela will be greatly missed by all of her family, friends, and everyone that knew her. Visitation will be Sunday, November 27th, at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Avenue, from 1PM-8PM. Trisagion will be at 7PM.
