Condolence & Memory Journal

I had Mr.Keith as my biology and microbiology teacher while he was with JCC. He was one of the best teachers I ever had and cared about his students. We have lost another angel here but heaven has gained one of the best. He will be dearly missed here on earth. To his family my thoughts and prayers to you all. I don't remember a day being in his class that he did not talk about a member of his family.

Heaven gained another amazing angel.

Mr. Barry was my biology instructor at JCC, and I must say he is the best instructor I had there. Biology was his life & he enjoyed teaching it. Every class for him was an enjoyment. I have never met a instructor that had such a kind humble heart as he did. Mr. Barry believed in all his students, even the ones who never paid attention or barely showed up. I remember him asking me, why did I do the extra credit work when I already had a high grade in his class. I simply responded because, you taught us so well, and I wanted to be here, because you are here cheering me on. I miss you already ... I wish I would of had the time to take your microbiology course.

Yes, for sure, Barry was a fine guy and always had an easy, pleasant outlook .... I worked with him, for many years, back in his research days in the Burroughs Wellcome Phamacology Department. One fun memory I have is Barry's excitement about having a pond dug (and fill up) on his land. His goal was to swim in it EVERY month of that year..... and even in freezing mid-winter, he did just that !!

I loved catching a few minutes to chat with Barry. He was so unique and genuine. He wanted to be real - no time for the surface stuff. He was crazy about his family...and he lit up when mentioning his special grandkids.

The service today was beautiful. Thank you for sharing a piece of Barry - your husband, your dad, your friend. The love you share is very special...praying you'll feel that love as you grieve.

Mr Barry, I had Mr. Barry for biology one year at JCC. An amazing teacher, who believed in all his students. Even the ones that hardly ever showed up or even pay attention. Thank You Mr Barry, for believing in me

I am saddened to hear of Barry's passing. He had a truly jovial spirit. I was fortunate to have the opportunity to work with Barry in my early years at JCC when he taught evening classes at the Workforce Development Center.

He went the extra mile for his students and always had a kind word and smile for his colleagues.

Our hearts mourn for you, our world is empty without you in it, but I rejoice because I truly believe that you will forever be our angel watching over us.

We love and miss you dear friend!

My dear friend, I will miss you. Going to work each day and not seeing you there will be the hardest part of all. We shared a fondness for the microscopic world, always chatting about water bears and most recently, fresh water jellyfish. Your students were your biggest fans and to them you were a rock star. You were a true mentor to me over the past 9 years and I will never forget you or the passion with which you lived your life. One day, we will catch up and oh, the stories we will share over a beer and some bluegrass music. Love you Barry!

Barry was a nice person all around. He could brighten your day if you were in his presence. Barry was one of the exceptional instructors who went the extra mile to minimize complications and to create a pleasant learning environment. So many of my JCC advisees wanted to take his courses because of his philosophies in both education and life; they also greatly appreciated his approachability.
