My heart is saddened by Dr. Campbell's passing. I worked with her in Asheville City Schools and admired as well as respected her knowledge and work ethic. She was not only a great person but a gifted educator. Genevieve Butler

I had the privilege and pleasure of working with Karen at Estes. She was a gifted educator and administrator: knowledgeable, tough, fair. What a positive difference she made in the lives of students and teachers! I'll never forget the staff meeting when she told us that she was leaving Estes to be the principal at Roberson. We were stunned and saddened to lose her but the staff stood and gave her a standing ovation. She had that kind of impact. Thank you, Dr. Campbell! My prayers are with Karen and all who love her.
