Peter will be missed. It won't be the same at 9:30 Mass without him sitting in "his" seat or greeting everyone at the door!

So sorry for the loss of your father. He was such a kind hearted gentleman with an infectious grin. I always enjoyed it when he stopped in to tell me of his latest adventure and to get one of his warm hugs. My prayers and thoughts are with you all at this time.

The Evans' family offers our condolences and prayers in your time of sorrow.

I met Pete when we first moved here in 1999 at the doors of Our Lady of Nazareth church. He made me feel welcome and after many invitations got me to join the KOC with his sponsorship.

I can only think that he is receiving the same reception at GOD's "pearly gates" and will be one of St. Peter's ushers as he was here on earth.

We wish you all GOD's strength

I worked for Pete, Mr. Ragone, for years, and my mom, Joyce Nowlin, worked for him for years and years. He was a household word in our house, most beloved. I remember his zeal quite well. He would fire and rehire with no resentments whatever. Truth. He expected excellence, yet having a generous heart toward his workers. It has been many years since I worked for him, but the thought of him reminds me of him running about here and there in that sewing factory making sure everything was to perfection. A good good man. Blessings upon the family as you will miss his presence here, I know.

Pete was a wonderful Christian man. He was Roanoke's silent giver. All you had to do was tell him someone was in need and it would be taken care of- anonymously of course. May his family take comfort; he is finally with his beloved and all his good friends.

To the Ragone family:

Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. Pete was one of the first people I met when I moved to the Roanoke Valley in 1986, and I grew to know him as a compassionate, generous, and loving and dedicated husband, father and boss. Both his family at home and his family at Glad Rags were clearly of utmost importance to him, as was his Church. His years of service as a Greeter and Usher at OLN led him to touch the lives of hundreds of people down through the years.

After I had known Pete for about 20 years, I finally sat down with him at the Knights of Columbus hall and thanked him. When he asked me why I was thanking him, I told him that he taught me the meaning of Charity. And this he did by example.

May the Lord wrap you in His arms during this time of sorrow.
