Tribute & Message From The Family

Giovanni was born on July 20, 1923 and passed away on Saturday, May 13, 2017.

Giovanni was a resident of Gerlach, Nevada at the time of passing.

There will be a visitation at 3PM on Thursday, May 18th at Walton's Funeral Home - Sierra Chapel, 875 W. Second St. Reno, NV.

Bruno never enjoyed flowers and whenever asked of what to do with money would always say to give some to the kids, therefore in lieu of flowers, contributions in Bruno's memory may be made to a college savings account set-up at the Nevada State Bank, so that his legacy may live on.

Condolence & Memory Journal

Bruno you will be sorely missed by the towns of Gerlach and Empire. I remember when we lived there on the old Ginnochio ranch outside of Gerlach in the early 1970's. He was a kind and sweet man. He gave me my very first Shirley Temple when I was a kid. I still love them to this day! My thoughts are with his family, friends, and anyone who had ever known him. Miss his Raviolli and Spaghetti. Love you Bruno, RIP. He is finally making his Raviolli with my mom in heaven. My dad and I will miss him terribly. Hugs and love.

Bruno, you will be missed. Gerlach will never be the same. You were so kind and always generous to us when we came to town. Your spaghetti is the best. Rest in peace. God bless to Skeekie and all of your loved ones.

Bruno, you are forever in my heart. I will ever grateful for your generosity, friendship and big, booming nature. Your kindness to my father for many years and your graciousness to my Mom are perfect examples of your greatness. Thanks for all the 'free drinks' you gave to my brother, Joe, and I over the many years of hanging at your bar. Say hello to Dad for me...

I had many motorcycle runs and Chukar hunts over the years with a stop at Bruno's...... great food, pool and always a Picon or two. Bruno was a colorful character and will be missed. My condolences to the Selmi family. Godspeed Bruno!

We would make the drive from Fernley when we lived there out to Bruno's to get ravioli's. It was so worth the drive. What a nice man. What a wonderful memory he gave our family.

Countless memories over generations of our family and friends gearing up to go to "Bruno's" to start us off on a hunt in the great Silver State.

My father Louie Solari passed 3+ years ago, but there wasn't a week that didn't go by where Bruno wasn't mentioned, basically whether he knew it or not he was the maitre'D of our next excursion. Speaking on behalf of the Linden growers and extended friends, the spirit goes on.

Happy Trails!

Bruno will be sadly missed, I worked for the Union Pacific RR and we stopped their for lunches occasionally. We talked to him . He was hard to understand but we made it through conversation. He was a real icon in Gerlach.

With fond memories of a unique and wonderful man. Bruno helped my father when h immigrated from Italy in 1953. I saw Bruno last time a few years ago in Gerlach. He insisted on giving me a whole prosciutto. This was after feeding me and my husband a huge steak. Our condolences go out to Skeekie and Family. Sending a big hug your way. Nancy Galli Dalquest

I never met Bruno, much to my regret. But he was a legend in the long distance motorcycling community. He will be missed - and never replaced.

Bruno will be missed my many. I'll always remember talking about farming with him. I farm in Fresno California. He was always inquisitive when it came to Alfalfa. We'd get 7 cuts maybe 8 and he thought that was so amazing. I'll miss chatting with him in lazy boys by the wall. Even though I went to his place once a year. He greeted people like they came in everyday.

Skeekie, Cecil, Willie and Lil Cecil - we were sorry to hear about Bruno's passing.
I will definitely miss seeing him at the feeds, and during our hunting trips to Gerlach (of which he always wondered why we couldn't find the chukar - as he would tell us they were everywhere!!). Gerlach will never be the same without seeing Bruno. He was so good and kind to us every time we were in town.
I feel very fortunate to have been able to have had Bruno in my extended family's circle. I will miss him - he always made me laugh!!! Good memories for sure!!
