Mr McGoo , all time favorite golfer to caddy for; when the caddymaster Norton gave you the loop Mickey McGovern you knew as a caddy were in for a good 4 plus hours of banter & laughs for 18 holes @ PRCC. His foursome consisted of Irishmen , Mc Fadden, Cassidy, Slevin, Ratigan, a guest named Red Eye, and a Noel named Lindenmuth. He always tipped well & when we went past the halfway house he stopped for a beer, "take a slug son." McGoo knew how to have fun & I can still hear his Irish laugh as he busted on one of his friends , "is that hard water or soft water in front of you" to throw one of his buddies off as he was teeing off on the 16th.
Susie, your dad was the best but you already know that.
Peace be with you & your mom & your family.

Mr McGoo my favorite golfer to loop for. If Norton the caddymaster assigned you Mickey or a "guest of McGovern" on a Wed afternoon you were happy- It was going to be a lot of laughs & banter & a slug of beer leaving the halfway house along the way for 18 holes @ PRCC, His foursomes consisting of Irishmen,
McFadden, Cassidy, Slevin,& even a guy named Red Eye & a Noel as in Lindenmuth
Susie, your dad was the best but you already know that.
Peace be with you & your mom.

Sorry to hear about the loss of Mickey "McGoo" McGovern. He will always be fondly remembered by all PRCC caddies as one of the best "loops" of all time. The McGoo nickname was given to him for his inability to see where his golf balls were hit throughout the round. He was a true Irishman and a great guy.

He must be delighting the folks upstairs with his antics, as much as he did the same for us down here. May the good memories give you all peace.
