Condolence & Memory Journal

In church, Madge always sat in the same section where we sat. I always looked forward to her warm sincere greeting in the early moments of our service when we take a moment to say hello to those around us. She was a special person whom I miss.

I first met Madge in the School of Allied Health in 1980, where we taught in different departments. She always had a big smile, great laugh and a wonderful sense of humor that made her a joy to be around. We developed a good friendship over the years that lasted even in retirement. She was an excellent professor and greatly admired and respected throughout the School. I will miss her and pray that these words will help comfort her family in their time of sorrow.

I had the privilege of having Madge Chamness as one of my instructors in the Medical Tecnology program at ECU in 1980. She helped to foster a love for Hematology in me and I still have my books from back then. She had a great sense of humor and I will always remember her with respect and fondness.
