Condolence & Memory Journal

Coach Yourish was not just a good teacher, coach, skier and friend, he was a great person. From Freshman football to 'skiing the trees' , to taking the time to talk with my kids when we would run into each other at Seven Springs, HS football, grocery store etc.. Always upbeat when he was battling. The memories we all have will keep him around us always.

He was a great man and teacher. Always asked about me and my family long after I graduated from GCC. He always had a smile on his face and never complained. Heaven has gained another bright star. Shine on Ken. My deepest sympathy to his family.

Mr. Tourist was my social studies teacher at GCC. He made me enjoy politics and world events and always made me want to learn more. I remember him always smiling. On one of our ski trips, I remember him seeing me not so gracefully trip over my skis and showing me how to make sure my skis didn't cross when coming off of the lift. Years later I thought of him when I went skiiing in Vermont and i did the very thing we first laughed about...falling because I crossed my skis. :-) I immediately remembered him saying, the hardest part is getting up and trying again, but you can do it!

He was one of the friendliest teachers and I enjoyed being his student. God Bless his soul.

We spent much time skiing with Mr. Yourish in Our High School years. We loved him for his easy manner and involvement in our daily lives at Central Catholic High School. Prayers to his family Kelli Miller Seamens

Mr Yourish was one of my favorite all time teachers. Even though I graduated 20 years ago, I could always count on him to crack a "twin" joke when I'd see him at mass. Every year at Easter we'd see him at Blessing of the Baskets at St Roses church. He was a great teacher and a great person. I'm so sorry to hear of his passing. Prayers and condolences

Words cannot express the sadness in our hearts upon hearing of Ken's passing. Meeting him at GCC and continuing that friendship for years afterwards, even after moving to KY. He will be greatly missed by our family.
