Condolence & Memory Journal

Yes, truly a giant of a man. My father (Bob Espeseth) also rowed with Vic at Univ of Wisconsin. My brothers and I have fond memories of visiting the Steuck Farm. Condolences and love to the Steuck Family. It was always fun to see all of my Dad's rowing friends and family.

Vic was truly a giant of a man, and a gentle one at that. My dad R.Y. rowed with Vic for the UW, where Vic's work ethic and physical presence shone through like few others'. He was an All-American, if I'm not mistaken. After Korea, they raised families and in the late 60s through the 70s we enjoyed many special times together. I remember fondly the times Dad and I joined Vic, Peter, John and Vic's late brother-in-law Del Barrett, another oarsman, for a bountiful deer hunt on and near his farm. And Barb was a most gracious hostess the whole while, cooking meals to satisfy all. With great sorrow, I wish Vic's wonderful family peace and solitude, knowing he is in the comfort of the Lord.
