My former Pastor, teacher, leader. You inspired your young people to be all we could be and to expect the best from ourselves. As a young member of Canaan Baptist Church of Christ, I did not know I was in the company of historical greatness, but I knew I was in the presence of a great man. You personified the rare combination of intellect, professionalism and spirituality and taught us that Christianity in the so-called Black church was more than an emotional outcry of racial pride, but a spiritual cover of omniscient love. Oh, how I thank you. Sleep in Peace, Doc.
