EDWARD DOUGLAS LUDWIG March 29, 1933 ~ January 30, 2018 Edward Douglas Ludwig passed away on January 30, 2018 in Vancouver, WA. Douglas was born in South Orange, New Jersey to Mr. E.H. Ludwig and Mrs. Jean Hand Ludwig. He spent his early years in Shorthills, NJ and completed his schooling through high school there. Douglas was a member of the Millburn high school football team and graduated from the University of Maine with a degree in Forestry. A United States Army veteran of the Korean War, Douglas was a member of Veterans organizations in Vancouver, Washington. Douglas's career in forestry took him to assignments in Washington, Oregon and California. Doug had several canine pets of which he was very fond and had a passion for electronics, leading to a collection of WWII era radios which he repaired. Douglas is survived by his brother, Alan, of San Diego, CA; four nieces, one nephew, five grand-nieces, two grand- nephews, and seven great-nieces and nephews. Burial will be at the Willamette National Cemetery, Portland, OR at 1:00 p.m., February 13, 2018. All friends are welcome. Please sign Edward's Guest Book at www.columbian.com/obits.
