Condolence & Memory Journal

My husband Peter and I just learned about the loss of Mrs. J when the Christmas card was returned. Our heart is heavy hearing of Mrs. J s passing. Mrs. J. Was the second mother to all the "boys" as Phi Rho Sigma Medical Fraternity. My husband attended St. Louis U Medical School 1970-1974. Mrs. J made the most delicious meals for the "boys" and always made them a cake when it was one of their birthdays of for a big exam. I would visit from Boston and spend time in the kitchen with Mrs. J while Peter was at class. She labored over the stove with love and always was so kind to me. too. We fondly remember a few years ago when Peter and I, Rich Kagan ( another one of the "boys") and his wife Lisa attended SLU Med School reunion and got to visit with Mrs. J and take her to lunch. She shared with us a photo album she had kept of all the "boys" from Peter and Rich's class. She will forever live in my heart as one of the kindest and loving and giving people I know. I know we all will miss her so much. May she be in the arms of her dear Frank. Rest in Peace Mrs J. XO Love Donna and Peter Masucci (dmasucci51@gmail.com; 978-766-0603)

Mrs. J was more than a friend. She was our cook for many years at the SLU Phi Rho medical fraternity house. I had the pleasure of visiting with her at my class reunion in 2014 and traded holiday cards with her every year since graduating medical school in 1974. She was "mom" to so many of us and she will be sorely missed.

I have known Bernita since 2011. What a loving, caring, and interesting lady she always was.

Bernita was one of St Joseph apartments jewels. She will truly be missed for donating her time to management.

Bernita was a gentle soul, a true lady of love and kindness. She always had a smile that could brighten any room and was genuine in her heart with all who had the honor of being known as her friend.
