Posted by A friend   December 11, 2019

I just did a Google search looking for Ed as I used to love his show on MSNBC and Air America. I LOVED the fact that he was a strong union supporter and he frequently brought labor leaders onto his shows.
I am sorry for your loss of a husband, father and friend. May he be remebered fondly by all "working stiffs."

I am sorry for your loss but please be assured that Almighty God is truly aware of your loss and grief, and is longing to alleviate your pain and sadness by fulfilling his promise to eliminate the root cause of sickness and death forever.

Ed's care and defense of the working class meant a great deal to me. I have been a Democrat for many years, but have often felt unsupported by the corporate wing of the Party. I also appreciated Ed's knowledge and understanding of the rural communities of our country. How healthy it is for us all to walk in each other's shoes and release our pre-conceived notions.
Ed's love for his family, his deep respect for Wendy, his wife and his pride in his children, were clear. This is an admirable trait in a man, and desperately needed in men who possess a public voice.
Ed's death at a relatively early age is a shock to me and a real loss to Americans who care about democracy.
I extend my sincere condolences to you all. May his family feel supported by the many of who admired and valued Ed for his big heart, his integrity, and his love of country.

ED SCHULTZ, In my humble opinion,n was not only one of the finest broadcasting personalities on the scene today, but also one of the most humain.
I was very upset for a long, long, long time when he left MSNBC. I felt very strongly, that a man like him needed to be out there for ALL OF US, AND HE CERTAINLY WAS. ED WAS A MESSENGER FROM GOD HIMSELF, AND THAT'S THE WAY I'LL ALWAYS REMEMBER HIM. FROM OUR FAMILY TO HIS FAMILY, OUR CONDOLENCES.

The first time I saw Ed was on MSNBC I think it was before Rachel Maddow's show. Every night there was some remark that was right on whether it was his interpretation of the news or pointing out how insane something was. For those of us who watched this brilliant journalist Rest In Peace Ed. You are already terribly missed.

I first heard Big Ed on XM radio and lastly on RT. I used to tune in at 5:00 and 8:00 just to hear what Big Ed Shultz had to say. He was a passionate voice for the working community. He was unafraid to say what needed to be said and there was no spin, and I deeply appreciated that. He was the one who correctly defined the term "fair and balanced". I am really going to miss you Big Ed.

I want to send my condolences to Wendy and share a memory. When they were planning on moving to DC, Ed contacted me to see a house for rent while he was in town prior to moving here. I arranged for him to see it through the then-current resident, and it turned out that he went to a business meeting and only Wendy went to look at the house. When Ed called me the next day and said he wanted to rent the house, I told him he needed to see it too and then apply. He told me "If Wendy wants it, that's all I want. How can we make this happen?"
What a kind man and pleasure to deal with! May his memory be a blessing

Well, this sucks. You were WAY too young to leave us, Ed. We didn't always agree, I was a Hillary Del - twice, but you were always reliably honest about your opinions. You never hemmed and hawed. You spoke your mind, dug out the truth, and stood firm. The world is a darker place without you. Hope you find Tim Russert - another voice of reason on the boob tube. Maybe the two of you can figure out a way to guide us out of this mess. With all that's going on, we truly need some supernatural assistance.

I met Ed backstage when he held a Healthcare Townhall meeting in Portland OR back in 2009. He was an impressive Man, big voice, but had heart. He told his story about growing up in Virginia, football days, fired up Conservative Radio talk show host, and his journey to becoming a voice for millions and millions of Liberal Americans. He credited his wife Wendy for showing him the people that needed a voice, the most vulnerable in society. RIP Ed. Condolences to his family.

Thought MSNBC made a big mistake when they let him go..and with the current political climate it seems they did. He was a voice of reason, unique points of view and a determined passion. I recall the MSNBC promos he did relagating stories about his high school. The world is a scarier place without his voice. I often wished he would come back to TV but, sadly, there is no place for a view point like his. Maybe he's in a place where he can help us all out on this hard political journey. Of course, when he's not fishing..Prayers and thoughts to all family and friends.

Thoughts and prayers to Wendy and family on Ed's passing. The impact on my life and career was made so amazing by Ed having worked with him for many years in Fargo. We still kept in touch with phone calls. I treasure a long day the last time together. I traveled with him to an Iowa rally for Bernie Sanders just prior to election. Sanders knew him well and waved him through security detail with a hearty Hello Ed! Ed still asked him the tough questions.

Ed Schultz was an ORIGINAL. He was forthright and honest in his opinions. Even if I disagreed with him--which was rarely--he told it like he saw it. It was not great to see him bounced around from channel to channel--but his words and thoughts were worth following. Condolences to his Family and Friends. He's missed.

Dear Schultz Family, I am so sad to hear of Ed's passing. I started watching his show on MSNBC. I loved how passionate he was about his beliefs, and that he was a republican first, as was I. I especially loved that he stuck up for the little guy. Will miss his take on life and politics. Give 'em hell up there Ed.

Seeing Ed Schultz on television surprised me as I had not owned a television in 30 years. The Ed Show was not a bunch of baloney. I bought a TV and looked forward to learning from his show and a few others. He was a rebel who honored life.

Ed and I dated briefly during our Minnesota college days the spring/summer of 1976. Both of us lived in different dorms. This was certainly the days of landlines and because Ed had no money, he also hadn't signed up to be able to establish a phone account in his own dorm room. He was at my room one day and asked if he could use my phone to call his father. They were blabbing away about something and I think his father wanted him to come back home to Virginia for a visit. I heard him say in his southern accent, "Daddy . . . I got things to do!" No kidding. He was truly a self-made man and a very nice man at that.

David and Wendy - what a massive hole in your lives you must feel. He lived life large but oh how fortunate you were to have him in yours. My sincerest sympathies to you all.

Ed truly was a man of the people, of those he liked to say who showered after work. He did some great reporting for MSNBC, and I always loved his radio show, and missed it when he went to MSNBC. Like he said, it was truly where America came to talk. If there is a heaven, no one deserves to be in it more than Ed. He was one of a kind. One of my favorite songs was always Neil Diamond's "Done too soon". He rattles off a list of famous people and then sings "And each one there, has one thing they shared. They have sweated beneath the same sun, looked up in wonder at the same moon. And wept when it was all done, for being done too soon, for being done too soon". Ed's name belongs on the list. Done too soon.

I was so shocked and saddened by the news of Ed's passing yesterday. I have been a fan since Air America, when Al, Rachael, Randi, Thom and Ed were the only voices in the wilderness for liberals.
I ran into Ed and Wendy in NYC at a favorite restaurant of theirs. He invited me to sit at the bar and chat. He wanted to know where I was from and what I thought of different topics. I am a breast cancer survivor and it was only a few weeks later when I learned of Wendy's diagnosis. I know it was a difficult time for their family.
I am so sorry for your loss. Ed will be remembered and greatly missed.

To the family of Ed Schultz,

Please accept my heartfelt sympathy for the passing of Ed Schultz. My prayers and thoughts are with your family during this difficult time.

I could always rely on watching News with Ed Schultz on RT because Ed reported the news truthfully, in-depth, and he challenged the status quo with his news coverage. He was a gifted news anchor for RT and MSNBC. Ed Schultz was someone I looked up to due to his great devotion to his family, his work, and to his community. He was a good man.

In remembrance of Ed Schultz this quote sums up of his life for me.

"In the end, it's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years." Abraham Lincoln

I was shocked and saddened tonight to hear that Ed passed away. I have missed him on MSNBC because even the most leftist of the hosts never quite had the passion for r the working class that Ed manifested. I can't think of another TV journalist who shared that passion and spoke of it with every show.

He loved his family, his faith, and those who often had no one to speak for them. And he put his money where his mouth was by getting the dental clinics going for t hose without dental insurance. I shall keep him and his family in my prayers. The world is a colder place at his passing.

A voice for truth is lost forever, emailed MSNBC for years on deaf ears, however, on is Radio Show, a Man whom listened, a remarkable Human Being. The co-ordinator, stated that he too was Canadian, so he and I spoke frequently on many subjects, while waiting, to find if Mr. Schultz was interested, allowing me to speak to Mr. Schultz, live, on air, even though I was an unknown Canadian knowing very much all on American Politics. His savvy on conversations was honest, basically comfortable on my opinions, as most would shun me.
I learned of his outdoor interests, I grew-up along the Detroit River, and knew many holes to catch specific fish, as walleye all day, perch, carp, and even an old sturgeon, on my line on 3 occasions, that runaway with all my line.
Anytime that he would be visiting Detroit, He would have been very welcomed at my house for dinner anytime.
I miss him already, and now that opportunity to fish with Him, is Gone for Ever.

I grew up with and went to high school with Eddie. Really, really nice guy, I remember running "routes" for Eddie so he could work on his passing..8th and 9th grade. Sad to hear of his passing. My sincere condolences to the family for their loss. I can say my thoughts of Eddie are nothing but the best and I was shocked today to learn of his passing. The Maury High School family will miss Eddie.

Sorry to hear about Ed's passing and God's peace to his family. Seemed so early, and makes me a bit nostalgic, the years have gone so fast since I watched him daily report the sports and when he was around North Dakota State where I went to school and was on the wrestling team, he was always pleasant and took and interest in how I was doing when he was doing his interviews and talking to coaches and athletes around North Dakota State Univ.

RIP, Ed.

Ed Schultz will be greatly missed by a lot of people who listened to him and felt he was a good man and was "a good friend" to his listeners. We need so many more men like him and he will always will be remembered with gratitude. He truly served his country.
