Randy was the newly appointed Sports Information Director for ECSU when I first met him. I was the student assigned to work for him collecting the stats and typing the game notes. He shared with me that he had the same job as a student working with the previous SID. Randy was a cool guy, always good to me, and became a big brother to me while I was trying to figure the college thing out. What I will always appreciate is that he kept up with me after I graduated from college. I saw him referee local high school games and he always made sure to take the time to catch up with me. We always laughed and joked like the good old days. His passing is such a shock that it doesn't seem real. I will miss my friend. Thoughts and prayers from me and my family to the entire Jones family.

I first met Randy when his daughter was in kindergarten at JC Sawyer. Later I had the pleasure of meeting his sons. The last time I saw Randy was in CVS about 2 years ago and he shared pictures of his kids with me. He beamed when he talked about his family! My sympathies are with you.
