Condolence & Memory Journal

I'm so sorry to hear about Katie. She was very close to my family for many years. I met Katie when she was pregnant with Mikey through the dart league. Over the years we went to many dart tournaments together and had more fun then people should be allowed to have. Katie was also a board member of the Southside Dart League and even the President for a bit. We also never missed one of Mikey's birthday parties rain or shine winter coat or bathing suit. Always a great time and the best food in the world. She was a great cook and I'm sure she got that from her beloved Mom. Over time Katie moved on to other interests her church and ladies groups. I missed seeing her but I knew she enjoyed her new adventures. I was lucky enough to see Katie at Rosa's another place where she became a family friend too. That was Katie's way she just wasn't a friend when you met her she was almost automatically part of your family. Everyone at Darts thought she was my sister and that was just fine with me and my sisters. The reason Katie was at Rosa's even thought she was battling breast cancer was to see her beloved Cubs win the world series. I tried to give her crap about that but she would hear nothing of it and never lost her faith in that win. Her and Karen W had a pack on that game and even with my sox fan whammies they still pulled off the world series title. So thank you god for letting them win for her and her sparkly CUBS wear.
God Bless you Katie Koran you loved your family, God, work and your Country like no other and dam it I'm going to miss you more then you will ever know! RIP till we meet again, I salute you my dear with a wee glass of Rock & Rye! And Koran Family please accept my deepest condolences and that of the Southside Dart League.

What a beautiful life taken so soon. Kathy was the life of the party and the energy to make so many things happen as a volunteer with the General Federation of Womens Clubs. Im sure she danced with St. Peter at Heavens Door. Rest In Peace Dear Friend.
