Condolence & Memory Journal

My condolences to the Groot family. I have fond memories of Scott going way back to grade school and into early adulthood. Looking back on those days long ago it always struck me that he was the epitome of the all American boy and I am sure he carried those characteristics throughout adulthood. So sorry.

I was new to Buffalo Grove as a sophomore. Scott was the popular guy, great in sports, but was always friendly and kind to me. Scott made a difficult transition easier and I've always remembered him fondly for that.
So sorry for your loss.

Groot Family,
I was saddened to hear of Scott's passing. It brought back a flood of great memories from our childhood. I was in school with Debbie, and the Groot boys were legends growing up in BG. I got to play football( BG touch league) and pick up basketball with Scott after college. He was great guy hang out with. I'm sure words cannot express the pain you all must feel but know that Scott was a awesome guy that brought fun and laughter anytime you were around him. When I think of the Groots, ..All Of You....there is always a smile on my face and a special place in my heart. I'm sure you are all rallying around each other in true Groot style. Take care, all of you. Lots of love from BG..

I would like to express my most sincere condolences to the Groot family, all of whom are a part of wonderful memories from my childhood. I always very much looked up to Scott. He will definitely be missed. May blessings and comfort be yours during this difficult time. As the ending to the Irish Blessing, which Scott sang so many times with the Expressions, says: "may God hold you in the palm of his hand", as I am sure He is doing with Scott.

Scott was a loving and funny classmate of mine at Buffalo Grove High School. He was also a down the street neighbor. He was kind, considerate, funny and yes quick witted! He was a very approachable friend and an awesome athlete! Even though we did not keep in touch after graduation, it pains me to hear of his passing. To his family, I will keep you in my prayers and pray for you to know he touched so many lives in a very positive way! God Bless you Scott.
