In loving memory of a wonderful person. We will love you and miss you always.

What a beautiful bright light to add to the shimmering halls of Heaven. That is how Mary Jo will live on in my many memories of the times I had with her... bright and even shimmering.
Law enforcement officers have a critical need for a point person who can distill and evaluate for them the known information about calls for service to which they respond. Often, the safety and survival of the officer in the field is dependent upon this point person. As the situation unfolds and develops in the field and/or at the scene the critical need, all too often only increases and heightens. Add to it that many times, this occurs while other officers are working other critical incidents in other sectors of the area of responsibility... simultaneously!
Known as Dispatchers, Operators or Communications and Information Specialists, these individuals, under any name, are the largely unsung heroes of any successful Emergency Services Agency and a special breed! The best of them are simply the vital lifeline for officer survival in untold numbers of incidents that are a matter of record! Known or unrecognized, these public servants are owed much by the citizens and fellow officers that they serve.
Mary Jo was among the very best and protected me and my fellow officers and many many since, with the very best she had. I will be forever grateful! Rest In Peace and Godspeed Mary Jo.

Mary Jo was always loving, caring and giving. She was a great encouragement to me. She was strong, confident and had the most Amazingly-Contagious laugh that no matter where you were, how your day was going and what kind of a mood you were in, that laugh seemed to hush everything around you. Thank you, Mary Jo, for being a dear friend. I count it a blessing to have known you. You will be missed. Enjoy Heaven---until we meet again....(KJL---410)

I didn't know you very well on personally, but you always treated me with much kindness. We always spoke as if we'd always been friends every time I came by to do a ride-along or to someone's retirement party. Panama City Police Department will never be the same without you. Thank you for always taking care of my friends (Previous officers and dispatchers) there. I pray for the department, your friends and your family in the days ahead. You nor your kindness will ever be forgotten.

Her only desire as an emergency radio operator and supervisor was to take care of the officers on the road and make sure they all made it home safely.

From the time I walked in the door till the time I left, Mary Jo was known as the force to drive the dispatch center. Her drive and determination was exemplary, her care and concern for dispatchers, officers and staff were legendary and her willingness to teach her craft and life lessons, to those who wanted to learn, never ending. The honor and blessing was mine to have worked with her. My thanks to her for watching over us all...I miss her.
