Condolence & Memory Journal

Throughout their residency here, this family exemplified the Best of Kenosha. Kenosha was a better place to live due to their efforts as business people, church members and truly devoted members of the Kenosha community-at-large. When we lose people like Ben, it takes six others to stand in his place! He will be missed! Harold and Joanne Jensen - Lake Havasu City, AZ formerly Kenoshans.

My first job was with the Leader Store. My daughter was seriously injured in an accident and Ben told me to take any time I needed with pay. I will always remember his kindness. My condolences to Ellie and their family.

My first job was at the Leader store. Ben was my primary supervisor. My daughter was seriously injured when a car hit her. The Chemerows told me to take any time I needed with pay. I continued to work part time during the holidays. Ben will be missed greatly.

GOD BLESS ELLIE AND BEN'S FAMILY
I HAVE KNOWN BEN FRON THE TIME I BOUGHT SCHOOL CLOTHES AT HIS STORE THROUGH OUR YEARS AS DIRECTORS OF KSL/AA. I LEARNED FROM HS EXAMPLE. HE WAS THE MOST COMPASSIONATE AND THOUGHTFUL PERSON I HAVE EVER MET.

I worked at the Leader store in High School. Ben and his father Harry were great! I still remember my Jockey product codes. I think of both of them often.
Rest In Peace and love to all your family

Condolences to the Chemerow family. Who as a 'baby boomer' doesn't remember shopping at the Leader store for school clothes? Thinking of you Betsy from the class of 1975.

In the 60s my first real job was at The Leader Store working for both Ben and his father, Harry. Both were gentlemen and very considerate bosses, admired by all their employees. I learnt many things from both, the most important being to treat all people fairly and with respect.

Dear Chemerow Family,
I send condolences from the Frost Family as we honor and celebrate the life of a really great guy - Ben Chemerow. My memories of the Leader Store and your family over all the years has left a lasting impression on my brothers and me. Superb service, great family clothing, and always a welcoming smile and greeting when we arrived were trademarks of my favorite clothing store growing up. Thank you for all good work you did over a lifetime of service to others. I will be saying a prayer and thinking of all of you today. Blessings! John Frost
