Tribute & Message From The Family

Mary Teresita Pinto, a former resident of Stuyvesant Town returned to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on the early morning of May 4, 2020. Mary was born on October 1, 1930 to Jennie and Leonard Pinto in the Bronx, New York. Mary earned her Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from The College of Mt. St. Vincent and her Master's Degree in Nursing from Adelphi University. She achieved ABD status in Nursing and went on to pursue a life-long career in the mental health field assisting others seeking a better life. She worked for many years at St. Vincent's Hospital in NYC. When St. Vincent's Hospital closed, she went on to work for the NYC Department of Mental Health. Mary also volunteered her expertise and skill at the Maria Droste Counseling Services for many years. Her strong faith, service to the Lord, and work ethic was her passion and mission in life. She was a faithful communicant of The Immaculate Conception Church on 14th Street in NYC often serving as a Lector and Eucharistic Minister.

Mary is predeceased by her parents and brother Dr. Leonard Pinto. She is survived by her brother Dr. Anthony F.X. Pinto and nephew Nicholas of Phoenix, Arizona, nieces Sara of Scotland and Francesca of California. Mary had many friends and Good Shepherd Associates who truly enriched her life especially Eileen (Valerie) Murphy who was always there for Terri, and her nieces and nephew. Mary's wish is for a memorial mass at The Immaculate Conception Church on 14th Street in NYC at a later date when possible.
