In summer you could often find him enjoying a day soaking up the sun on Lake Erie.

I had the privilege of getting to know Dan through his sister Roseann. Her memories of her brother Dan include his love of the lake and water. Dan enjoyed walks and spending time with his sister talking usually twice a week. These walks and talks will be greatly missed as well as his smile. His kindness and love of his sons and sister will be memories that will live in their hearts forever.

Our deepest sympathy and condolences to Dans sons, daughters-in-law, and beloved grandchildren. We also express great sympathy to Dans sister and true blessing, Roseann, and her husband Chuck, our dear friends. It is lovely to see photos and read stories of Dans life and learn more about him, his activities, and interests truly a life well-lived. May Dans great love for you - his family - remain in your hearts and remind you of how special you are. May the hope of Life Eternal give you peace and remind you that you WILL meet again!

I remember our times on Christmas Eve at Rosi and Chas' house. Many years Dan came and brought his sons. We sang Christmas songs and laughed a lot. Dan was my favorite sibling of Rosi's because he was so kind and fun to be with. He never judged others. He was a rare individual.

With deepest sympathy to David, Michael & Dans surviving siblings, especially Roseanne whom I have known 8+ years. I know how close she felt to Dan from their telephone talks, to lunches together & family gatherings. My prayers are with you all during these difficult times. And I hope that your memories of Dan will comfort you in your loss. With sympathy.

What a wonderful man! Although I never had the privilege of meeting Dan, after reading his obituary, seeing the family pictures, I sure wish I could have known him. I am a fried of his sister, Roseann, and I cant imagine the great loss for her & all of Dans family! I lost my brother 2 1/2 yrs ago, and know what it is like to lose a sibling.
I had to smile & felt a certain kinship with Dan when I read about his love of nature & of trees. I love trees too, especially this time of year when on full bloom. May Dan now know the fullness of live reflected so beautifully in the experience of nature & creation here. My sympathy & prayers are with all in Dans family. Hold on to those precious memories!

Dan was a great brother and more importantly a great friend. Our love of nature was a special bond that I will always treasure. Dan loved the water and so do I. We spent many summer afternoons at Romps Marina in Vermilion watching the water, cooking out and enjoying the beautiful northeast Ohio summers. We would meet at Eddies Boat dock in the metro parks and walk and enjoy the scenery. Dan loved trees and would always quiz me to see if I knew which trees were which. This must have been the woodworker in him. In turn, I would ask him questions about the birds which led him to refer to me as the bird lady, an endearing term that I will now never forget. When we lived in Buffalo, Dan traveled to our house and spent may Christmas holidays with our family. I will always remember going to church, singing Christmas Carols and just spending time together. Many times, our mom Rose would also be visiting us at Christmas and this would make it a very nice family holiday. The tradition continued when we returned to Cleveland in 2006 and often times would also include visits from Dave and Mike. What great memories! Everyone has childhood memories and I think the one that I will remember the most is the nickname that Dan made up for me when I was young, one that he continued to call me throughout my life and that Is Zan. I will miss you Dan, our walks, our visits and most importantly our friendship.

Love, Your sister Roseann (Zan)

My deepest sympathy to the Horton family.

David and Michael....I have never met you. I am the mother of your cousin, Don Horton. I have known your Father for almost 60 years. The Horton family and Ferenc family lived several blocks from eachother. One family with seven siblings, the other 6. We were all very close in age, and grew up together sharing many happy times and memories. Your Father was unique, gifted and exceptional. I am so very sorry for your tremendous loss. May you take comfort in the arms of family and friends.

Childhood memories of Dan & I laughing & playing hide & seek are precious to me. It doesn't seem so long ago that family gatherings were frequent & time with the cousins was an anticipated treat. My heart goes out to the family. The loss of Dan is difficult for all. God Bless you & give you strength & peace. Dan, you will be missed.
