Condolence & Memory Journal

To the family of Roger Holmes: Please accept my condolences for your loss. May you find comfort, knowing that death was never God's purpose for mankind. (Romans 5:12). And soon, by means of God's Kingdom, for which Jesus taught his disciples to pray; all sickness, human suffering and even death will be brought to an end! (Matthew 6:10; Isaiah 25:8; Revelation 21:4)

God cannot lie. (Numbers 23:19; Titus 1:2) We can therefore have complete confidence that our dear loved ones who lie asleep in death will be resurrected - literally awakened back to life on a paradise earth! (Acts 24:15; John 5:28, 29; John 11:11-44; Matthew 5:5; Psalm 37:11, 29).

May these scriptural promises comfort you at this most difficult time and give you hope for the future.

Roger was like an older brother to me, although the age difference was really irrelavant. We both served in the military and both went off to war, albeit some 30 years apart. He was a great conversationalist and I enjoyed talking about any subject with him. I was fascinated with his record collection from the 30's, 40's and 50's. Once in a while, I would tune into his radio program on Sunday evenings via the internet. He had a great radio voice. I shall miss him a lot.
