MABEL KAY LEITER, age 59 of Manassas Park, Virginia died Friday, May 16, 2008 at her home.

Kay was born September 16, 1948 in Leesburg, Virginia daughter of the late Robert William and Elizabeth Thompson Gibson. She was a member of Manassas/St Thomas United Methodist Church, Manassas. She was employed for 30 years with the CIA and later worked in private sector for Raytheon.

Survivors include three children, Heidi Lynn Pike and partner Teri Pike of Gainesville, Virginia, Tammy Christine Hawk and fianc' Jeremy Rizer of Fauquier County, Virginia and John Steven Leiter II and girlfriend Jacqueline Jones of Manassas, Virginia; six siblings, Barbara Wilson Smallwood of Colonial Beach, Virginia, Margaret Ann Gibson of Winchester, Virginia, Robert William Gibson of Round Hill, Virginia, Douglas Lee Gibson of Sterling, Virginia, Betty Sue Hoover of Glen Burnie, Maryland and John Wayne Gibson of Frederick, Maryland; her long time companion, Robert Spring of Manassas, Virginia; five grandchildren, Andrew, Austin, Aleksander and Haley Hawk and Damian Rizer; two aunts, Mabel Rodgers, of Hillsboro, Virginia and Margaret Pritchard, of Surfside Beach, South Carolina and was divorced from John S. Leiter of Manassas, Virginia. She is also survived by numerous family members and friends.

The family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00 P.M. Sunday, May 18, 2008 at Pierce Funeral Home, 9609 Center Street, Manassas where funeral services will be held 12:00 Noon, Monday, May 19, 2008 with Pastor Lester Horton officiating. Interment will follow at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery, Haymarket, Virginia.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the charity of your choice.

To Kay's Family,

I graduated from Loudoun Valley High School in Purcellville with Kay in 1966 and she was a wonderful friend. I had lost touch with her over the past several years and was so sorry to hear about her death. You are in my thoughts and prayers. She will be missed.

Heidi and family, I was very sorry to hear this sad news about your mother. You should be very proud of your mother, given her love for each of you and for her dedicated service to her country.
