Anibal Saro, age 85, of Venice, FL died on January 21, 2011. He was born in San German, Puerto Rico on December 5, 1925. He served in the US Army 87th Acorn Infantry Division during WWII. He fought in the European Theatre and was awarded a purple heart and bronze star for his service. Mr. Saro loved old John Wayne movies. He was an avid gardener and fisherman, always hoping to hook the big one. When he relaxed, he enjoyed classical music and reading. Mr. Saro was a member of the St. Matthews Catholic Church in Edison, NJ.

He is survived by his wife Juanita Saro of Westchester County, NY; son, Bill and wife Pat of Venice; daughter Margie and husband Joe Kramer of Macungie, PA and Clermont, FL; grandchildren Jason Richard Saro of West Conshocken, PA, Anne Elizabeth Bosanac of San Diego, CA, Melanie Ann Dean of Latham, NY, and Lauren Ashley Kramer of Macungie, PA; and former wife Hilda Saro of Venice. He was predeceased by his son Richard Alan Saro; his brother Guido Casiano; and sister Iris Barrientos.
