Tribute & Message From The Family

Elizabeth Jackson Woodham was born in Darlington County September 16, 1928, the daughter of the late Pink and Geneva Davis Jackson. She attended the public schools of Darlington County and graduated from Butler High School in 1947. After graduation she began working in the Darlington County Schools as a cafeteria cook in Hartsville area schools. Her love of sewing lead her to employment as a seamstress with The Hartsville Manufacturing Company. Elizabeth was employed there for over 30 years before retiring.. In 1951 she was united in matrimony to Wesley P. Woodham and to this union one son, Michael, was born. Mrs. Woodham was a lifelong member of St. John United Methodist Church. She loved her church dearly and rarely missed services. She served as a Communion Stewardess for many years and was a member of the United Methodist Women. Mrs. Woodham was a long time member of Order of the Eastern Star Myrtle Chapter No. 56. She was an avid gardener and spent countless hours working in her flower and vegetable gardens. Elizabeth also loved quilting and made numerous beautiful quilts. Elizabeth Jackson Woodham leaves to cherish her memory a son, Michael (Lisa) Woodham of Hartsville, SC, a Goddaughter, Suzette Jackson, of Hartsville, SC, two sisters Darcus Barber, of Woodlawn MD, and Willie Mae (John)James, of Gastonia, NC; a brother Pink Jackson (Elizabeth), Jr. of Hartsville, SC, two grandchildren, Michael Nathaniel Woodham, and Christopher Marcus Woodham and many other relatives and very dear friends.

To Michael and family you all have my condolences and prayers in the loss of your mother. I know that no words of comfort can ease your pain ,or bring her back, but god has his hands on you, and your mother is asleep in the arms of jesus and she's resting in her heavenly place. I will never forget Mrs Woodham she was such a beautiful person.May you find peace.
