Gowrie- A. Arlene Fish, 81 passed away Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at Trinity Regional Medical Center, Fort Dodge.
Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Saturday, September 16, 2017 at United Methodist Church, Gowrie with Pastor Susan Rohden officiating. Burial will be in Gowrie Township Cemetery. Friends may call after 9:30 AM Saturday at the United Methodist Church, Gowrie. Palmer Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
She is survived by her husband, Neal Fish of Gowrie; sons, Michael (Darlene) Fish of Bloomington, MN; Mark (Nancy) Fish of Wildwood, MO; 2 grandchildren, Matthew Fish and Elizabeth Fish; sisters, Wilma Taylor of Ankeny; Lula Belle Green of Lake City; Jeannie Johnson of Callender; and Jo Ann Farber of Fort Dodge.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Lincoln and Agatha (Ahart) Walker; brothers, Irvin; Joe; Donald; Dean; James; infant brothers, Wayne and Maurice; sister, Dorothy Martin.
Arlene Walker was born on December 26, 1935 on a farm in Sac County. She was raised and educated in Sac County and graduated from high school in Somers. On September 30, 1956 Arlene was united in marriage with Neal Fish at the United Methodist Church in Gowrie. The couple lived in several different states and countries while Neal served in the Navy. In 1976, the couple moved to Gowrie where they established their home. Arlene worked for Kresge Dime Store for a number of years. She worked as a Home Health Aid for a few years, then as a Nurse Aid at the Gowrie Care Center. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and the American Legion Auxiliary. She was also a Sunshine Volunteer for over 20 years.
Memorials may be left to the Alzheimer's Association.
