AARON THOMPSON, JR COX FUNERAL HOME BASTROP, LOUISIANA Mr. Aaron Thompson, Jr. of Bastrop, Louisiana was born at Philadelphia, Mississippi on May 7, 1931. He passed away unexpectedly on February 20, 2018 at his home in Bastrop. Mr. Thompson is preceded in death by his parents, Aaron Franklin Thompson and Annie Rushing Thompson; two brothers, Carl Thompson and Herman Thompson; two sisters, Nell Dickson and Dollie Mock; and son-in-law, Nick Fragala. Mr. Thompson was a member of the First Church of God of Bastrop and the retired owner after 36 years of service of Thompson's Texaco at Log Cabin. Mr. Aaron enjoyed gardening and sharing the bounty of what he grew with neighbors and friends. He also took great pride in maintaining the appearance of his home and property. Mr. Thompson was a beloved husband, father, and Papa to his grandchildren. He was humble and kind to all fortunate to know him. Mr. Thompson is survived by his wife of 65 years, Annie Mae Thompson of Bastrop; two children, Becky Fragala Magouirk of West Monroe, Louisiana and Bruce Thompson of Bastrop; three grandchildren, Erin Nance and husband Layne, Teresa Jones and husband Dylan , and Morgan King and husband Alex; four great-grandchildren, Hayden Nance, Alayna Nance, Madison York, and Mac York; and a brother, Bobby Thompson and wife Judy. The family will receive friends beginning at 9:00 a.m. Friday, February 23, 2018 followed by funeral services for Mr. Thompson at 10:00 a.m at the Chapel of Cox Funeral Home of Bastrop. Reverend Dalyn Hebling will officiate the services. Committal services and interment will be at Bartholomew Methodist Church Cemetery under the direction of Cox Funeral Home. Serving as pallbearers are Layne Nance, Dylan Jones, Bubba Boyd, John D. Hattaway, Ronnie Tubbs, and Ronald Hopkins.
