Agustin Dominguez Carracedo, 75, died on October 11th at Oak Hill Hospital in Brooksville surrounded by his family.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Maria Purificacion Carracedo; his son, Tracy Carracedo and his wife Jennifer; daughter Tina Carracedo Smith and her husband Ed Smith IV, daughter Susanna Carracedo; and two granddaughters Emerson Carracedo and Lila Carracedo.

"Augie" was born and raised in Lage, in the northwest region of Galicia, Spain. The son of the late Eliseo and Soledad Carracedo, he served in the Spanish navy prior to moving to the United States in the late 60's.

He resided briefly in northern New Jersey prior to moving to East Haddam, CT in the early 70's where he served as chef at the Gelston House Restaurant until 1984. In 1985, Agustin was named head chef at Race Brook Country Club in Orange, CT, where he worked until 2005. He and his wife retired to Spring Hill, Florida in 2006.

In his spare time, Augie enjoyed landscaping, watching Real Madrid soccer, and spending time with his family. He had a very kind heart and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Viewing hours will be Monday, October 16th, 4pm-6pm at Merritt Funeral Home, 4095 Mariner Boulevard in Spring Hill, FL. A service will follow at 6pm.
