Albert F. "Al" King Jr., age 79 of Gosnell, passed from this life on Thursday, March 26, 2015 at his home. Born to Albert F. and Ada Ruth Mckee King in Sherman, Texas, he was a retired loan officer for Northeast Arkansas Federal Credit Union and retired from the United States Air Force after honorably serving his country for 31 years. He was an active and faithful member of Grace Life Church in Blytheville.
Al was one of the most positive men you would meet. His favorite saying several times a day was "Everything is going to be alright". This positive attitude revealed a good hearted man who loved to gather with family and friends at home or at a dinner served by the ladies of the church. His love for God and his country was evident as shown by a man dedicated to his faith in God and responsibility to his country. These characteristics were a life of example to his family, friends and all he came in contact with throughout his lifetime. Al also loved wood working and was very gifted with his creative abilities. When it came to his wood working, the only decision he would make was if it would be light or dark oak. He enjoyed working in his yard and growing flowers and vegetables of all types. He also enjoyed traveling and loved animals. He was a prankster who loved a good joke and seemed to always look at the lighter side of life. Remember, "Everything is going to be all right."
Al was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Marion Hackworth and Glen Hackworth and sisters, Stella King and Lona King.
Al is survived by his wife, Nola Fay White King of the home; children, Nita Reams and husband, Dick, Paul King of Memphis, Tennessee, Randy Gable and wife Karen of Blytheville, Ricky Gable and wife Stephanie of Blytheville; grandchildren, Jennifer Young and husband Stacy, Benjamin Weeks and wife Amanda, Erick Weeks and wife Charity, Nickolas King, Ryan King, Mia King, Halee Gable, Ricky Gable Jr.; great grandchildren, Cody Young, Garrett Young, Mallory Weeks, Jacob Weeks, Delaney Weeks, Dawson Weeks, Kamryn Weeks, Kendyl Weeks, Alex Weeks, Ellie Weeks, Samantha Reams; sister, Marion Hackworth of Exeter, California; mother in law, Fredelene White of Gosnell and a host of friends.
A graveside service with full military honors will be Sunday, March 29, 2015 at 2:30 pm in Elmwood Cemetery with Rev. Shane Spears officiating. There will be no visitation and condolences to the family may be expressed at www.cobbfuneralhome.com.
