Albert Donkersloot, age 79, of Worthington, Minnesota, passed away on Saturday, March 28, 2015, in Edmond, Oklahoma.

Funeral Services will be Saturday, April 4, 2015 at 10:30 A.M. at the Christian Reformed Church in Worthington, Minnesota. Rev. Adam Eisenga officiating.

Burial to follow at Worthington Cemetery in Worthington, Minnesota.

Visitation will be Friday, April 3, from 3:00 to 7:00 P.M. with the family present from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the Andringa Funeral Home in Sibley, Iowa.

Albert Bernard Donkersloot was born on September 29, 1935 in Sanborn, Iowa. He was the son of John and Johanna (Rutgers) Donkersloot. He lived his youth in rural Sanborn, attended Sanborn Christian School, and began his farming occupation.
He was united in marriage to Marie Bottin of Archer, Iowa on October 25, 1956. They farmed by Sanborn, later moving to Bigelow, Minnesota, where they farmed. In 1965, the family moved to Ontario, California to run a trucking business with Al's brother, Hank Donkersloot. In 1968, they moved back to rural Worthington, Minnesota to resume farming on his wife's family farm. Al enjoyed farming, especially taking care of his sheep and cattle. He also enjoyed truck driving for eleven years.
Al was an outgoing, talkative person and loved his wife and family and being involved in his great-grandchildren's lives.
He departed this life on Saturday, March 28, 2015 in Edmond, Oklahoma while traveling home with his wife after spending the winter in Texas.
He will be dearly missed by his wife of 58 years: Marie Donkersloot of Worthington, MN; his daughter and son-in-law: Lana and Norm Redenius of Worthington, MN; two sons and daughters-in-law: John and Lonnie Donkersloot of Worthington, MN, Jess and Lori Donkersloot of Worthington, MN; grandchildren: Jason (Wendy), Jenny (Suy), Jessica (Max), Jenna, Rebekah (Dan), Matt and Melissa (Jeffrey); great-grandchildren: Whitney, Brayden, Bryn, Devin, Ava, Grace and Harrison; one brother: Marv and Luann Donkersloot of Sheldon, IA; one sister: Matilda and Dan Alons of Sanborn, IA.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: Ray (Alyda) Donkersloot, Hank (Bernice) Donkersloot; two sisters: Gladys (Earl) Elgersma, Gertrude Donkersloot.
