A.J. Baudier, “The Fence Man of River Ridge”, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, June 25, 2017 at the age of 90. A.J. was an amazing and generous husband, father and grandfather. He loved people, dancing, golf, cooking, creating, building and inventing things. He proudly served in the US Navy during WWII. A.J. never faced a crisis that he couldn't handle. He attended Jesuit High School and Loyola University and worked as an accountant. He was the son of the late J. Ralph and Corrine Baudier. Beloved husband of the late Charline C. Baudier for 56 years and father of the late Albert “Jay” Baudier. He left behind his greatest admirers, his children, who loved and appreciated his spunk for life; Deborah Armstrong-Bode (Chris), Denise Baudier (Henry), Greg Baudier, and Douglas Baudier (Angela) as well as his former daughter in law Millie Baudier ; grandchildren Erin Popich (Daniel), Bradley Baudier (Erica) and Brandon Baudier (Jessica), Caitlin and Corrine Baudier, James and Justin McCoy; great grandchildren Olivia, Alynne, Reid, Madeline, Riley, and Gabriel; and the very special companion of Shirley Saladino. Survived by his brothers, Popsy, Pat, Mickey; sisters, Bubbles and Agnes; and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by siblings, Raymond and Anita.



Over the last ten years he has decorated his fence on Jefferson Hwy to the delight and pleasure of those who travel by his house. He was given a proclamation from Jefferson Parish Council which named him “The Spirit of River Ridge”. He holds a special place in the hearts of all who knew and loved him and will be truly missed. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Arc of Greater New Orleans or St. Michael’s Special School.



Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., on Thursday, June 29, 2017 at 1:00 pm.
