Alesandro "Gus" Ciacciarelli, of West Caldwell, NJ passed away on Saturday, January 28, 2017 in the Mountainside Hospital in Glen Ridge. He was 87 years old.

Born in Newark to the late Maria and Giacomo Ciacciarelli, Gus, as he was known by many, moved to West Caldwell in 1965.

He with his family owned and operated the Ciacciarelli Pork Store in Newark for more than 70 years before officially closing 20 years ago.

He was an army veteran who proudly served during the Korean War and was an avid fan of both the Giants and Yankees. Gus loved to travel especially in Europe with his wife, Connie. His greatest love was his family; his wife, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, and many other friends and relatives. He made everyone feel special and for all who knew him he was special.

He is survived by his devoted wife of nearly 60 years, Constance (nee Baldassarre), loving children Maria Elia and her husband Frank and John Ciacciarelli and his wife Nancy, cherished grandchildren Frank Elia and his wife Victoria, Anthony Elia and Catherine and Christina Ciacciarelli, and great grandchildren Julianne and Charles Elia.
