Alexander D. Williams, 23, of Tampa passed away on July 14, 2017. He was born December 7, 1993, in Tampa, Florida, son of David and Cynthia Williams. He attended Grace Christian School, Burns Middle School and graduated from Bloomingdale High School in 2012 with academic honors where he was a member of the football team. He loved athletics and played football starting at age 13; he was a defensive end for the Brandon Bears and distinguished himself in football by being selected to play in the League All Star Tournament in 2008. He was currently working on his Associates Degree at Hillsborough Community College.

Alex was a member of the Boy Scouts of America Troop #11 where he achieved numerous merit badges. He was a bright, smart young man who loved to figure things out on his own and build things. He enjoyed researching new hobbies and interests and was a driven young man with a strong will to succeed.

Alex had a lifelong passion for music and was a talented musician. He started playing piano at a very early age and also played the violin in the school orchestra. He started playing guitar when he was twelve and had a natural ear for music. He was a diehard Buccaneers Fan—win or lose—they were his team and he loved following the players and researching the team for each new season.

Alex had a side business in investment properties; but he worked full-time in the firearms industry, as a Range Master at Shooters World in Tampa. He was a conscientious, good employee and was liked by all of his colleagues.

He is survived by his mother Cynthia Williams of Tampa; his father David Williams of Brandon, FL; his grandfather, Charles “Poppy” Williams of Georgia; Uncle Don of Anchorage, Alaska; Aunt Sandy, of Friendswood, Texas; and his cousins, Nicolas, Nathan, Patrick and Joshua.

Alex will be remembered by his family and friends at a memorial service on Sunday, July 23, 2017 at the Blount & Curry Funeral Home, 3207 West Bearss Avenue, Tampa, FL 33618. The family will have visitation starting at 6:00 pm and the Memorial Service will begin at 7:30 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to Brandon Bears Youth Football League
