Alfred Edward Wieland, 86, of Marysville, died Tuesday, October 11, 2016.

He was born July 22, 1930 in Roseville to the late Alfred C. and Alice Wieland. He married Beverly DeLong on August 14, 1953 in Port Huron.

Mr. Wieland was employed with Mueller Brass and retired from the Marysville School District. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, receiving the Purple Heart. He was a member of D.A.V. Chapter 12. Alfred loved to travel and camp. He was a great dad and loved his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Beverly; three children, Edward (Janis) Wieland, Brenda Tack and Mark (Rebecca) Wieland; six grandchildren, Nicholas, Brittany and Zack Wieland and Kevin, Courtney and Justin Tack; a great grandson, Damien De-Mink; a sister, Elsie Glatfelter; and his canine companion, Amber. He was preceded in death by a brother, Frederick; and two sisters, Mary Szymanowski and Barbara Johnson.

Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday in the Marysville Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 15, 2016 in the Marysville Funeral Home. The Reverend John Arnold will officiate.

Burial will be in Riverlawn Cemetery, Marysville. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Army and the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Honor Guard.
