Alice was a living example of a "People Person," as family, friends, customers & strangers were quick to attest. She would be there with you, patient and understanding, using her time to help satisfy your need. She is survived by her husband, Charlie, Assistant Sports Editor of the former Phoenix Gazette, whom she knew 64 years, after meeting at Adelphi University, where he was a student and she worked. She leaves behind sons Thomas and Glenn and daughters Alice and Joanne, who grew up playing together. She is also survived by a sister, Jacqui, grandsons Chuck, Jason, John and Danny, granddaughter Marissa & niece Kat. A New Yorker at birth, Alice and her first husband, Karle, owned a Hallmark Gift Shop almost 20 years on Long Island. Two years after his tragic death in 1982, she moved to Phoenix and in 1993 married Charlie and resumed her retail sales career as a manager with Gilbert Ortega Jewelry, before resuming selling Hallmark products at Central and Camelback and then 20th Street and Camelback, from which she retired a few years ago. She loved reading and movies and especially PBS television and its programs from England. Her death came in the hospital Nov. 14, a day after her 84th birthday. "A Celebration of Life" with family and friends will be held early next month. Visit the guest book at www.almoore-grimshaw.com
