Alice Elizabeth Mansfield Bauerfeind





Alice (age 90) passed away on Friday June 29th, surrounded by her family, at Heritage Harbor Center, from complications of Alzheimer’s disease.



Beloved wife of the late Robert J. Bauerfeind, Alice is survived by two daughters and sons in laws: Roberta and Ret. Col. Gerald Bilderback of Annapolis, MD and Joanne and Christopher Wirth of Penn Yan, NY. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, plus cousins, nieces and nephews. She is also survived by one sister, Jane Cook of Cary, NC. Her older sister, Elise Herrle, recently passed away on July 4th in Hawaii.



Alice was born in Albany NY on June 6, 1927 and lived her childhood in Hampton Manor, Rensselaer, NY. She graduated from Columbia High School in East Greenbush NY and went to Mildred Elly Secretarial School in Albany NY.



She raised her children in Hampton Manor and enjoyed being a Girl Scout leader for many years. Her family later moved to Keuka Lake in the Finger Lakes where Robert accepted a job in the wine industry. Alice worked as a legal secretary in Governor Rockefeller’s office in Albany. She later worked in law offices in Bath, NY for many years. Alice enjoyed skiing, traveling, reading and sewing. She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Pulteney, NY.



The family will receive friends on Monday July 17th from 5-7 pm at the John M. Taylor Funeral Home 147 Duke of Gloucester St., Annapolis MD 21401.

Alice will be inurned August 21 at the Memory Gardens Cemetery and Memorial Park, Albany NY.
