Alice Fay Coody French Monroe, LA Funeral services for Mrs. Alice Fay Coody French, 77, of Monroe, LA will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, March 11, 2018 in the chapel of Cox Funeral Home in Delhi with Rev. Henry Stone officiating. Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2018 from 5-7 PM at Cox Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Epps Community Cemetery in Epps, LA . Alice was born on August 26, 1940 in Pioneer, LA one of three children born to the union of Ottis Odell Coody and Eula Head. She was a graduate of Pioneer High School and Northeast Louisiana University (ULM) where she earned a 4.0 average at both schools. Alice earned her bachelor degree in Social Work. She was retired as a Social Work Supervisor for the State of Louisiana and following retirement became Co-Owner and Operator of Mel’s Pharmacy in South Monroe working alongside her husband Mel French. Alice loved family, enjoyed traveling, seeing new places and life in general. She is preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband, Curlee Melvin French, her parents and a brother Waymon Odell Coody. Alice is survived by two children, Sue Raiford (Randy) of Phoenix, AZ and Jon R. French (Cyndee) of Monroe, LA; four grandchildren Alicia L. French of New York, NY, Randy Raiford Jr. of Eufaula, OK, Greg Raiford of Phoenix, AZ and Rebecca Williams of Bentonville, AR and 5 Great Grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother, Gene Ray Coody (Johnny) of Shreveport, LA and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Randy Raiford Jr., Greg Raiford, John D.
