Allan W. Rosenberg, 71, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 7, 2018 at Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville. He was born Nov. 5, 1946 in Chicago and was a former 25 year resident of Vernon Hills, living at Del Webb in Mundelein for the past 10 years.
Al was excellent with computers and data systems and was a former employee of Wickes Corporate and Hitachi Data Systems. He was also a US Army veteran, former member of the Vernon Hills Lions Club, former member of the Hawthorn District #73 School Board, served many years on the Vernon Hills 4th of July Committee and was a great Papa. He was an avid fan of his Chicago sports teams, the Cubs, Bulls, Blackhawks and having Bears season tickets with his son, Dan. He was also all his grandsons biggest fan attending their baseball, basketball and soccer games and martial arts classes.
In retirement, his hobby became riding his Can-Am Spyder Motorcycle, traveling as far west as Arizona and Wyoming and as far east as Delaware and New York, and even made it into Canada. Al was a founding member of the Woodstock Spyder Riders and volunteered with the Patriot Guard.
Surviving are his wife Debra Rosenberg; 2 children, Daniel (Emily) Rosenberg and Jennifer (Christopher) Albrecht; 4 grandchildren, Tyler and Jackson Rosenberg and Devin and Jordan Albrecht. Also, aunts, cousins, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Soloman and Charlotte Rosenberg and his sister Rona.
A celebration of his life will be from 11 am until time of services at 2 pm on Sunday, Jan. 14, 2018 at the Burnett-Dane Funeral Home, 120 W. Park Ave. (Rt. 176, one block west of Milwaukee Avenue) Libertyville. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Kidney Cancer Association at www.kidneycancer.org.
