Mr. Allen Jack Gleason, 85, of Douglas died Sunday, June 18, 2017 at St. Vincent's Medical Center Riverside in Jacksonville, FL.
The funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at Banks Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow in the Oakridge Cemetery in Tifton. The Rev. Gordon Poole will officiate.
Mr. Gleason was born on June 8, 1932 in Kalispell, MT to the late Clifford Gleason and Thelma Homlquist. He was a Veteran of the United States Army, having served during the Korean War. He had lived in Douglas since 1981. Mr. Gleason retired from Georgia Power where he worked as a Supervisor. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Mr. Gleason was of the Baptist Faith.
Survivors include his wife, Maxine Duckworth Gleason of Douglas; sons, James Henry Davenport of Blackshear, GA and Robbie Davenport (Paige) of Pearson, GA; grandchildren, Andrew Davenport, Colby Davenport, Sr., Drew Davenport, Cole Davenport, Brice Davenport and Anna Grace Davenport; great-grandchildren, Colby Davenport, Jr. and Aubrey Davenport; sisters, Gertrude Manning and Pearl Wretz, both of Kalispell, MT and brother, Victor Gleason of Kalispell, MT.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2:00 PM until the service hour at Banks Funeral Home Chapel.
