Alma May Conway, 79, of Elm Valley, went to see her Lord, April 25, 2016, while in Hendricks Hospice Care, with all of her family around her. Services will be held at the Northwest Church of Christ, 1141 North Willis, at 10:30 A.M., Thursday, April 28, 2016. Burial will follow at the Buffalo Gap Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 5701 Highway 277, from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Wednesday, April 27, 2016.
Alma was preceded in death by her parents, August Henry Bredemeyer, II and Rosa Lavelle Bredemeyer, three brothers, Teddy Joe Bredemeyer, Elton R. Bredemeyer and August Henry Bredemeyer, III..
Alma met and married Curtis E. Conway, Sr. on July 9, 1953. They lived in many local communities before settling in Elm Valley. Alma spent most of her life in the healthcare service, working at the Abilene State School, then earning her LVN certificate and worked at Hendrick Memorial Hospital, and later in many community nursing homes.
Alma is survived by her husband, Curtis E. Conway, Sr., currently residing at Wisteria Independent Living in Abilene; four sons, Curtis E. Conway, Jr. of Midland, Texas, William Henry Conway of Abilene, Texas, Micheal Charles Wayne Conway of Dallas, Texas, and Jammie Lynn Conway of Elm Valley, Texas; one daughter, Susan Remshardt of Durant, Oklahoma; three brothers, Robert Bredemeyer, Jerry Bredemeyer and Michael Bredemeyer; and one sister, Joan Kendrick. Alma was also blessed with nine grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
