Alma J. Woodward, 95 of Markle passed away at 7:40 pm on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at Markle Health and Rehabilitation Center. Alma was a 1937 graduate of East Rockcreek High School. She had worked as a receptionist for 15 years at Myers Funeral Home in Markle. She was a member of the Markle Church of Christ and was a member of the The Pan Handler Home Extension Club in Wells County.

Alma was born on November 9, 1919 in Fountain County, Indiana, a daughter of Andrew and Margie (Wolfe) Thayer.

She was united in marriage to Charles A. Woodward on June 3, 1939 in Markle. He preceded her in death on December 14, 2007.

Survivors include two daughters: Clara (Duane) Cart of Markle; Becky (Dennis) Grover of Warren; a sister: Georgean Anderson; a daughter-in-law: Diane Winkler of Warren; five grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son: Ray A. Woodward, a brother: S. Andy Thayer, three sisters: Lillie Cloutier, Christine Felton, Betty Wilson and a granddaughter: Sally Lewellen.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 18, 2015 from 4:00 - 8:00 pm at the Myers Funeral Home Markle Chapel, 415 N. Lee Street, Markle, Indiana.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 19, 2015 at 11:00 am with one hour of visitation prior to the service at the Myers Funeral Home Markle Chapel with Gerald O. Moreland and Greg Comp officiating.

Interment will be at the Markle Cemetery.
