A Life Celebration in honor of Ann Polk will be held 10 AM, Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home with interment to follow in Hill Crest Memorial Park. Rev. Billy Pierce will serve as officiant. The family will welcome visitors from 5 PM to 7PM on Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at the Funeral Home.

Ann was born on Elvis' first birthday, January 8, 1936, to Ainsley and Altha Elkins Dopson in Strong, AR. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and devoted friend. Her "day job" was as a clerk in the purchasing department for the city of Bossier City, however, she spent any "spare time" working additional jobs; sometimes 3-4 at a time. Occasionally those jobs paid, for instance, when she sold Avon, but sometimes she volunteered like when she worked as a "pink lady" at Bossier General or at a rescue shelter. She loved listening to Elvis and playing BINGO with friends. Mrs. Polk passed peacefully on Friday, October 27, 2017 at the tender age of 81.

Preceding Ann in death are her husband Harold Polk; son Richard Polk; two sisters, one brother and one very dear friend, Peggy Sirmons. Left to cherish her memory are her; daughters, Tonya Brown, Pam Taylor with Ralph, and Sharon Williamson with Haskell; sister, Jaxine Salter; grandchildren, James Polk with Mel, Hunter Polk with Alexis, Raelynn Davis with Keith, Brad Taylor with Serena and Stacy Taylor with Brandon; four great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, other family and dear friends.

The family would like to thank Dr. Montriano-Liam and the wonderful nurses and staff at the Guest House for their compassionate care.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests a donation be made to Nina's Road to Rescue be made in her honor.
