Alton was born on August 8, 1931 and passed away on Monday, January 8, 2018.

Alton was a resident of Monroeville, Alabama at the time of passing.

After his service years, he returned to Monroeville where he worked at Tri-Motor Company, Russell Ford Co. and Sales Ford Co. Mr. McQueen attended Patrick Henry Jr. College and Faulkner State College in Bay Minette obtaining an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice.

He served in the United States Army from August, 1952 to July, 1954 and remained in the Reserve Unit until August 1960.

He was a member of Excel Masonic Lodge No. 655. He is survived by his loving wife Virginia Chandler McQueen of 67 years; three daughters, Mary Ann Mayo (Mitchell) of Lenox, AL Sarah Frances Champion (Traylor) of Tyrone, GA and Donna Marie Kitchens (Blake) of Gulf Shores, AL; one brother Stearl A. McQueen of Christmas, FL; four grandchildren Shannon Sawyer, Brandon Sawyer, Carrie Marie McGowan, and Bryant Traylor Champion, Jr.; two step grandchildren Wendy Folmar and Jordan Kitchens and eight great grandchildren Trevor and Kayley Sawyer, Julian, Kristian and Lailyn Sawyer, Dalton and Maddy McGowan and Caden Thomas Champion. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 from 12:30 to 2:00 PM at Johnson Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 2PM at Johnson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bill Bodiford and Rev. David Matthews Johnson officiating. Interment will be at Pineville Cemetery with Johnson Funeral Home directing.
