Amay Terrebonne Moorman entered peacefully into heaven on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was a devoted wife of the late Edward Clark Moorman for 43 years. Loving mother of her sons; Edward Daniel Moorman (Angie Guidry) and the late Mark Clark Moorman. Mother-in-law of Claire Desjardins Moorman.
A proud grandmother of Torri Ann Moorman, Edward Dylan Moorman and step-granddaughter; Amanda Roudolfich. Daughter of the late Olivette LaFont Terrebonne and Adam "Boss" Terrebonne. Sister of Sidonia Terrebonne Porter and preceded in death by Laura Terrebonne Legendre, Zumma Terrebonne Danos, Enola Terrebonne Dufrene, Burnick Terrebonne and Merza Terrebonne. She is also survived by numerous loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Age 93, a native of Golden Meadow, LA and a resident of Marrero, LA. Amay was a graduate of Westwego High School and Soule College. She worked as a Payroll Supervisor for Avondale Shipyard for many years. She belonged to many organizations in her community; Altar Society of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, a long standing member of Codofil, Magnificat, Mary's Helpers, St. Vincent DePaul and she also volunteered at the Harvey-Marrero Senior Citizens Center. She was a devoute Catholic and known throughout her community, family and friends for her many acts of kindness. The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff of St. Margaret's Hospice for their care of Amay. They would also like to thank Dianne Foret for her many years of care, friendship and devotion to their mother.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at Westside Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expy., Marrero, LA on Monday, April 3, 2017at 1:00 pm.
Visitation from 10:00 am until Mass time. A Rosary will be said beginning at 12:00 pm. Interment following in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Gretna, LA. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to St. Jude's Children's Hospital in her memory. Express condolences at www.westsideleitzeagan.com.
