Angela Josephine Tarantelli Miller, age 89 years, a resident of Elkins, WV departed this life Tuesday afternoon, March 13, 2018 at her home, surrounded by her loving family and under the care of WV Caring.
She was born, Monday, March 19, 1928 at Harding, WV, a daughter of the late Joseph and Frances Mastrogusippe Tarantelli. On September 22, 1949 at Elkins, WV, she was married to Clarence Edward Miller, Jr., who preceded her in death September 22, 2017. Also surviving are one son, Michael Lynn Miller and wife Robin of Elkins; one daughter, Deborah Kaye Recknor of Elkins; two grandchildren, Catherine Anne Recknor and fiancé Robert McCallister and Angela Megan Sessions and husband Jay Sessions; and one great granddaughter, Kinley Josephine McCallister.
Angela was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Preceding her in death are two brothers, Tony and Ernest Joseph Tarantelli; and four sisters, Cecelia "Sissy" Ancell, Jean Antolini, Valeria Tarantelli and Dora Michalena Carlucci.
She was a graduate of Elkins High School with the Class of 1946. She had worked for the former Goldberg's Department Store, Reidbord Brothers Company and worked as a Teller for Davis Trust Company for twenty-seven years, from which she retired. She was a member of the Saint Brendan Catholic Church and the Holy Rosary Guild. She enjoyed quilting, baking, sewing, crafting, cross stitch, candle wicking and cooking spaghetti.
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins from 5 to 7 PM, Sunday. On Sunday, at 6:45 PM, at the funeral home, a wake service will be recited. On Monday, March 19, 2018, Mrs. Miller will be moved to the Saint Brendan Catholic Church where the Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM. The Reverend Father John "Chapin" Engler, Jr., will be the presider and interment will follow at the Saint Brendan Cemetery at Elkins, WV.
