Anita Boggs, age 79 of Austin, Texas, passed away Monday, July 24, 2017, at her home at Raider Ranch in Lubbock, Texas, where she had resided the last two years.

Mrs. Boggs was born in Tilset, East Prussia on March 20, 1938. She grew up in Wormstadt, East Germany until she moved with her family to Weisbaden, Germany where she met and married her husband Bennett Boggs in 1962.

Mrs. Boggs received her American Citizenship on January 22, 1973. From there she worked in many roles until she became as a Telephone Operator for the Department of Civilian Personnel for 15 years before retiring in 1992, where she received many awards, including her role with communication between the White House and Weisbaden Hospital during the American hostage crisis in Iran in 1980.

Mrs. Boggs was preceded in death by her husband, Bennett Boggs on August 13, 1995. She is survived by her two sons, Larry Boggs and wife, Rebecca of Lubbock, Texas, Michael Boggs of Austin, Texas; two grandchildren, Emily Boggs, and Ryan Wentzel and wife, Katie of Lubbock, Texas; three great-grandchildren, Hayden, Elle, and Grayson Wentzel of Lubbock, Texas; two sisters, Elke Maul and Ursula Bewernick of Germany, and a host of other family and friends.

Family of Mrs. Boggs will be will be receiving friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, July 27, 2017, at Resthaven Funeral Home.

The family of Mrs. Boggs will receive visitors from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., on Saturday, July 29, 2017, at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Sunday, July 30, 2017, in the same location, with interment to immediately follow at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Memorial Park.
