Anna Faye Woodward passed away on March 29th 2017 with her children by her side.
Faye was born in Abita Springs, Louisiana and later moved to Bogalusa, Louisiana, where she met the love of her life, Don Woodward. The two were married in 1953 and moved to Freeport, TX in 1955. It was here that Faye built a meaningful life raising four children and supporting them in all their endeavors.
Faye was warmly welcomed by the First United Methodist church in Freeport, became a loyal member of the church's Mamie Circle, and went on to make many lifelong friends in the community. Her passion for beautiful things and special occasions led her to open Faye's Hallmark store and two additional Christmas stores, showcasing her love for Christmas, which was one of the most treasured times in her life. But the thing that brought the most joy to her life was her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She poured her heart and soul into making each occasion especially joyful for her grandchildren.
In 2008 she suffered from a life-threatening illness and, against all odds, she was able to overcome. She never wavered in her strength and will to fight, for herself and for her family. And even in her long and often difficult recovery, her dedication to her family remained her top priority. Faye was determined to make the best of her life and found joy in the little things and precious moments with her grandchildren. Her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren are eternally grateful for her love, friendship, and strength. Faye was the strongest woman any of us have been blessed to know. Despite facing countless tragedies and hardships in her life, she remained faithful, hopeful, and lifted up others in need.
