Anna May (Hedger) Baker, 96, of Columbia passed away on Tuesday, December 19, 2017, at Provision Living at Columbia.



Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 21, 2017 at Memorial Funeral Home, with interment following in Memorial Park Cemetery.



Anna May was born on May 1, 1921, near Amoret, Bates County, Missouri the daughter of Marion G. and Olive (Judy) Hedger, both of whom preceded her in death. She was married on January 10, 1941, in Amoret, Missouri, to Marvin D. Baker, who also preceded her in death.



She graduated from Amoret High School in 1938, and also from Huff Business College in Kansas City in 1940. Anna May moved to Columbia in 1949. She worked at MFA Insurance Company, then joined Silvey Companies and retired from there in 1986 as a Fire and Casualty Underwriter. She was a member at Fairview United Methodist Church.



She is survived by: 2 sons: Dean (Linda) Baker of Columbia, and Gary (Connie) Baker of Lee’s Summit; one daughter, Marcia (Leon) Reynolds of Columbia; 2 grandsons, Jeffrey (Laura) Baker of Hallsville, and Chris Reynolds of Columbia; 2 granddaughters, Sabrina (Michael) Hubbard of Farmington Hills, Michigan, and Melissa (Jimmy) Pasley of Columbia; and 9 great grandchildren: Madison, Mack and Meredith Baker, Emmalee and Eoin Hubbard, and Addyson, Andrew, and Alec Pasley and Kaden Birch; 3 sisters, Ellen Baker of Independence, Etha Pearl Black (Philip Pieratt) and Joan Luttrell of Butler, Missouri. She was also preceded in death by 2 sisters, Catherine Taylor and Mary Barnhill; stepfather, Osa McGuire; an infant brother and an infant son.
